Pewter PITCHER, with shoulder, plinth foot, straight heel cup and S-shaped thumb with molded crest and creeping tongue.
Control mark: crowned C / MELVN / 1691.
Hallmark of Louis-Philippe MALET received master before 1750: crowned reptile / LPM
Height: 20.6 cm.
MELUN, Mid-18th century

Rare provenance in very good condition.
In many centers, the control of 1691 was not updated every year as provided for in the edict of Louis XIV. In MELUN that of 1691 was used throughout the 18th century and does not on its own allow the objects to be dated precisely.
