"Commode In Diminutive Called Mastery Inlaid Crossbow Walnut"
Rare piece of mastery, reduced model called in diminutive, perfectly well proportioned, preliminary to the creation of a beautiful ceremonial piece of furniture, this small chest of drawers whose facade is curved like a crossbow is inlaid with walnut alternating burly wood and wire wood, reserves are surrounded by maple and plum fillets, it is from the 18th century and of very good quality of execution. Everything is in diminutive, the lock entrances and button plate, finely engraved, are in brass as well as the buttons, beautiful original iron lock positioned on the middle drawer with a particularity: it has a double inverted pin and allows to also block the other two drawers. The edges of the top and crosspieces are molded in end grain wood. The top and sides are inlaid with a peripheral frieze and a central panel in 4 leaves surrounded by a large plum fillet surrounded by maple fillets. Beautiful selection of well-grained wood. An old, partially preserved paper must have covered the inside of the drawers. This beautiful collector's item probably comes from an Alsatian workshop or from the Rhine valley.
