Nahavand rug in hand-knotted kork wool circa 1970. It measures 163 cm wide by 306 cm long.
This piece is in very good condition, velvet, selvedges and fringes.
A soft, shiny wool is characteristic and generally used for Nahavand rugs, which gives them a nice thickness and great comfort. It gives the patterns and designs of these rugs a strong personality combined with a great presence in a room.
These rugs are very solid, they often have a rectilinear design, partially inspired by ancient nomadic pieces.
We find some like our model with softer, rounder shapes and clever decorations. An important medallion is located in the center of the carpet in the majority of cases. Finish, fringes at one end, kilim finish at the other end.
They are decorated with leaves, flowers, branches and arabesques, and are framed by floral decorations. The beauty of our Nahavand remains in the combinations of shades, peach, blue, orange, gray, red and beige, old pink and red which stand out skillfully on a midnight blue field. The ancient city of Nahavand in western Iran is one of the main provenances of carpets in Iran.
Today, it still produces excellent quality Persian rugs with a very high reputation. This rug has been professionally and environmentally friendly cleaned.

Selling rugs without knowing how to talk about them is like selling flowers without liking their smell - - - - Persian proverb
