Raoul Serres : “The heir” (1881-1971), drawing in Indian ink and sepia ink wash 35.5 cm. Signed, located (Dée? Perhaps Saint-Pée?) and dated 64. In front of a Basque farm, a grandfather contemplates his son who is taking in his arms a newborn baby presented to him by his wife. An artist little known to the general public, the art of printmaking which earned him the Grand Prix de Rome in 1906 was confidential.
