"A Large Lampas In Damask Satin Louis XVI Period Circa 1780"
Circa 1780 France Table rug, wall hanging or bedspread in silk lampas with wide cherry and cream stripes and undulating flowering branches dating from the Louis XVI period. Probably a dismantled dress, this satin-ground lampas with twill-effect edging decoration is lined with cream cotton cambric highlighted with a colored taffeta bias. Two or three micro slits only at the edge, otherwise stable and resistant silk. Good general condition of color and conservation. Dimensions: 260 cm x 230 cm.
