Mingqi Court Lady, Chinese Tang Style Statue flag

Object description :

"Mingqi Court Lady, Chinese Tang Style Statue"
This white glazed ceramic statue belongs to the family of “mingqi”, or funerary statuettes. It represents a court lady, according to the canons in vogue during the Tang dynasty in the 8th century. However, I think it is more logical to consider it as an "archaic style" object and therefore I date it conservatively to the 19th century.
The representation is graceful, the feet are hidden according to custom, and the hands visible, which confirms that it is not a dancer
. The hairstyle and clothing correspond to a noble lady.
The thick, high-fired glaze has multiple small holes that appear during firing, which add a certain effect to the piece, the imperfections being the charm of old ceramics.
At the character's feet, we will note a cooking crack which is not an accident but a retraction of the ceramic during the manufacturing process. Likewise small manufacturing crack under the base.
I left the statuette in its uncovered state, but all the brown traces are only superficial dirt that a good cleaning with lukewarm soapy water can completely remove
