Bust Of A Child In Gilded Bronze By Louis Sosson On 19th Century Marble Base

This bust represents a young child, it was executed with great finesse by Louis Sosson, French sculptor (active between 1905 and 1930), most of his works date from the Art Nouveau and Art Deco period. He mainly created statuettes representing pretty women, often performing, dancers, people in Dutch clothing and some children. The mercury gilding of this statuette is of good quality. The carving and repairs are there. The shower base is chic and elegant. As for the condition, note jumps at the four corners, a small dent on the right of the bust, however the condition of this bust remains quite adequate.
