Very rare Africanist chair in exotic wood
Back carved with geometric patterns and two Dogon style heads
Provenance : Colonial exhibition of 1931

Good general condition apart from the front legs restored using spikes (see photos)
Sublime patina

Bibliography : "VOGUE Magazine , a very private suite in a New York palace, an Art Deco apartment signed François CATROUX "for four seats of identical shape with backrests with variations. These chairs, rescued from the Colonial Exhibition of 1931, were rediscovered by Marc AMOURIC."
