"Pitcher From Birnbauchkrug Germany XVIIth"
Superb and rare pitcher called Birnbauchkrug in brown sandstone circa 1680. The round base is in pewter It is baluster in shape, body with twisted reserves imitating the weaving of basketry, the center decorated with a decoration of a woman in bust, palmettes enhanced with gold and red, blue and white enamels. The whole is topped with a pewter lid which opens using a turned socket. Rare and quality work, in excellent state of conservation, restoration at the cove.
