Charming little painting depicting a henhouse. This oil on panel produced in the 19th century represents a bucolic scene where a rooster perched on a barrel overlooks two hens wandering in a shelter serving as a henhouse. The ground is covered with straw and in the background a large ladder is placed on a wall. An important, richly carved frame highlights the work. It is molded, in relief and has numerous friezes and garlands of pearls.
