"Painting “the Chicken Coop”, 19th Century French School"
Charming little painting depicting a henhouse. This oil on panel produced in the 19th century represents a bucolic scene where a rooster perched on a barrel overlooks two hens wandering in a shelter serving as a henhouse. The ground is covered with straw and in the background a large ladder is placed on a wall. An important, richly carved frame highlights the work. It is molded, in relief and has numerous friezes and garlands of pearls. The contrast of colors and the sure line of the artist whose signature remains a mystery, make this painting an original and harmonious work. ******** Period: 19th century Additional photos available by clicking on the following link: https://www.antiquites-lecomte.com/boutique/cadres-et-tableaux/table-le-poulailler-xixe Shipping possible with careful packaging and appropriate protection.
