Tibor Polya 1886-1937, Tempera on wood, 50cm by 21.5 cm without the frame and 25cm by 54cm with it. painting in good condition protected by glass, original frame with some gaps. Tibor Pólya (Szolnok, April 25, 1886 – Szolnok, November 29, 1937): painter and graphic designer, completed his studies in Bp., Szolnok and Paris. From 1912 to 1919, he was a member of the Kecskemét artists' colony. In addition to landscapes and figurative compositions, he also created caricatures, book covers and posters. Between 1917 and 1924, he organized a collective exhibition almost every year at Ernst Múz. He visited America in 1925 and 1928 and published an album about the trip of the delegation which went to America for the unveiling of the Kossuth statue. In 1929, he organized a collection exhibition at the Fészek Klub. In the 1930s he lived in the Szolnok artists' colony, of which he was one of the leaders. Jeles m. illustrated the works of writers (Gyula Krúdy, Frigyes Karinthy, etc.). The Szinyei Társ. member. His works are at the MNG. "Desk." PT (Hungarian Applied Arts, 1937.)
