"Large Ceremonial Vase In Sèvres Porcelain And Gilt Bronze? Vienna? Museum Quality, 19th Century"
Exceptional vase forming a centerpiece in very fine hand-painted porcelain or earthenware and gilded bronze frame. This is a ceremonial vase, of good size with museum quality. The body is hand painted with a scene of Venus emerging from the waters with cherubs and a scene of characters in the upper part with a royal crown at the top. On the reverse, painting of flowers. All of the cartridges are highlighted with relief enamel beads (some slight gaps) The gilt bronze mount is of incredible quality with a square base decorated with scenes of putti and cherubs in the style of Clodion, the corners bearing let's mask. Then comes a thick frieze of bay leaves. On the belly of the vase, bearded fauns with goat feet hold on to the friezes of olive leaves. Finally, an acanthus frieze finishes off this superb piece. The porcelain in good condition, no cracks or missing, some altered gold threads, gilding of the original bronze just cleaned. We are in the presence of a very high quality ceremonial vase. It is not signed and bears no trace of manufacture., perhaps Sèvres or Vienne. Napoleon III period around 1850. Given the fragility of the whole, I would prefer hand delivery to be defined together, however, I can have it delivered to you by carrier in a wooden box on a pallet, 150 euros in France, 500 euros in the EU and 1000 euros rest of the world.
