Very beautiful pen and watercolor by the painter Jean Joseph BERNARD (1740 - 1809).

This artist specialized in the realization of profile portraits of illustrious characters of the reign of Louis XVI and many represented Queen Marie Antoinette. 
It could therefore be a portrait of Marie Antoinette.

This feather is presented in its original frame eighteenth gilded wood decorated with small carved pearls, very characteristic of the Louis XVI era.
This pen is not signed, as is the majority of this artist’s works.
