"Contoured Dish, Sterling Silver 18th Century."
This round dish with a scalloped edge is decorated with a double fillet around the edge. It bears various hallmarks: a fleurette which is the charge 1768-1774 for the minor works of the community of Paris, the discharge for the same period is a helmeted head turned to the right. The master goldsmith is Jacques Pierre Marteau received in 1757 and died in April 1779. The date letter is a crowned H for the period from July 1771 to July 1772. Diameter: 29 cm. Weight 703 gr.
