Superb and elegant pair of Consulate period armchairs in painted and gilded beech. They rest on 4 sheath legs decorated with flutes and palmettes, they are assembled by crosspieces decorated around their edges with friezes carved with golden foliage and flowers on a white background. Armrests with twisted flutes and gilded palmettes in the upper part, flat framed backrest repeating the decoration of the crosspieces with a pediment in part including a more geometric frieze with a daisy in the center. The whole is covered in light gray velvet fabric, woodwork in excellent condition, fabrics in used condition. High quality, solid and comfortable work with superb ornamentation.
