Beautiful oil on canvas from the 18th century representing a young girl crouching with rolled up skirts, busy urinating in an undergrowth landscape, on a bucolic path.
the young girl is lovely with a very pretty face with pink cheekbones and rounded lips, a very pretty look. She wears an elaborate blue ribbon hairstyle.
she is squatting and a transparent modest veil suggests her nudity and her occupation.
a woven basket filled with hazelnuts, around her arm, she seems lost in her thoughts.
the wooded landscape around it is very finely painted and reveals on the left a background with a glowing sky.
this entire composition is superbly well processed and very fine in the details.
the canvas rests on a beautiful key frame and is protected by glass. the stucco and gilded wood frame is later from the Napoleon III period.
the whole is in very good condition.
perhaps a repainting to report on the left side at mid height.
