Franz Iffland:
Franz Iffland was a German artist best known for his Art Nouveau bronze sculptures. He frequently depicted women, children and animals on historical or sporting themes. Born in 1862 in Berlin, Germany, Iffland studied at the Berliner Bildhauerschule, absorbing the popular Jugendstil aesthetic of turn-of-the-century Germany. Producing paintings in tandem with his sculptural work, Iffland was an expert in administering various patinas to his bronzes. The artist died in 1935 in Berlin, Germany. He presented his bronze work at the Great Berlin Art Exhibition in 1892.
