"Majolica Allegoria Ceramic"
Important amphora-type vase resting on a base with human figures treated in the round. Polychrome enameled ceramic print. Brand SANSEBASTIANO e MORENO Genova and bears the manufacturer's stamps on the reverse. Wear and scattered enamel breaks. History: This Genoese factory, founded by the sculptor Michele Sansebastiano and the merchant Cesare Moreno, exhibited its creations and received a number of distinctions at the Italian General Exhibition in Turin in 1884 and at the Universal Exhibitions in Antwerp in 1885 and in Barcelona in 1888. Considering the elements brought to our attention and the research carried out, it is very likely that our vase model was presented during these major artistic events.
