"French School Circa 1920 : “cradle Angel”"
French school circa 1920 : "Cradle angel", thin copper plate 4.5 cm in diameter, partially gilded and silvered (wear), mounted (not fixed) in a slightly cracked veined material frame (ivory?) including the fastener is broken and replaced by a hole. Illegible hallmark at the bottom left and initials “ET” or “EZ” at the bottom right. The model of the angel is of course the one that Raphael introduced at the bottom of his “Sistine Madonna” from the Dresden Museum, but very finely crafted.
