He also paints portraits. At the end of the 19th century he decorated the Caffè Gambrinus in Naples, the ceiling of the Communal Garibaldi theater in Santa Maria Capua Vetere (1895), and the ceiling of the Palace of the Stock Exchange in Naples where he painted the Allegories of work and history (1897-1898). He began to devote himself to vedute, to marine painting, similar to those of the Pausilippe School. He painted the picturesque Palazzo Donn'Anna on various occasions. In 1904 at the Universal Exhibition in Saint Louis, he won a gold medal for a large canvas: Marina di Napoli. The painting “Sinite Parvulos” was presented in 1880 at the Turin exhibition. In 1877 at the National Exhibition, he exhibited “Un sad presentimento”, “Una figlia della colpa” and “Una cucina tutta fumo”. In 1883, in Rome, “Da Posillipo”. In 1884, in Turin:, Brillo, Tipo napoletano, Primi palpiti, Aspetti, and Colloquio piacevole. In 1910, a young student, Venturina Castrignani, committed suicide after being emotionally rejected by Gaetano Esposito who, out of remorse, ended his life on April 7, 1911, at the Sala Consilina in Salerno.
