"Louis XV Period Capuchin Desk"
Tumbling desk called a Capuchin desk, the Capuchin desk is a transformable piece of furniture, the top folds down to reveal a circular-shaped tier reminiscent of the cap of the religious order of the Capuchins, it results from the invention by Antoine Gaudreaux (circa 1680-1751) of the first secretary delivered for Marie Leszcynska in 1733. Our desk is stamped with Pierre Garnier (1726-1800), master's degree obtained on December 31, 1742, Pierre Garnier is among the great cabinetmakers of his century.
