This beautiful mezzotint depicts the Amsterdam art dealer Jan Pietersz Zomer. The mezzotint was made by Arnoud van Halen after a portrait of Zomer by Norbert van Bloemen (Antwerp 1670 – 1746 Amsterdam). As well as dealing in paintings, prints and drawings, Zomer was a distinguished collector, mostly of ‘papierconst’, works on paper. His collection numbered some 30,000 sheets.

Another impression is in the Rijksmuseum (inv. RP-P-0B-21.377).

In very good condition and with margins around the plate impression.
