"Louis XV Style Castle Wardrobe"
Louis XV style castle cupboard in painted oak. Period late 18th / early 19th century. Significant sculptural work was carried out on this control cabinet. A double register is used for the decor, that of the Louis XV style and some attributes of the Louis XVI style. The upper and lower rails feature an asymmetrical composition made of foliage, shells, foliage and flowers. The cornice is composed of a large palmette in its center lined with scrolls and foliage scrolls, flowers under the molding. The front uprights are rounded and hollowed out. They are carved at the top and in the middle of falling flowers. They end with foliage scrolls and scrolled feet (note the grafts at the feet not visible). Double-framed doors receive a row of heart spokes and a row of oves. The top of the doors as well as the middle rails are carved with shells, foliage scrolls and flowers. The sides are made up of three molded panels. The interior is made up of three shelves, one of which has two drawers. The lock fitted with its original key is functional. The cabinet has been re-lacquered and patinated in gray. It is decorated with a light gray trim to the moldings and sculptures. Dimensions: L 150 x D 67 x H 274 Cornice: L 167 x D 72
