19th Century Gilded Bronze Table Or Office Lamp & Diffuser Flower Shade In Blown Glass

We offer you this very beautiful desk lamp or table lamp in gilded bronze and sumptuous blown crystal diffuser depicting a blooming flower corolla; this glassware with its beautiful sound tone in perfect condition.
The very charming object rests on a cylindrical base whose upper part in ogee is decorated with a large circular frieze with water leaf motifs which rises vertically into a barrel with similar decoration then extends into a stem in fluted whip decorated with foliage and flowers to blossom at its end into a crystal flower made of blown glass elements, worked with pliers and hot glued.
The mercury gilding is still in very good condition despite some gaps or thinning on the high reliefs. A cast iron disc on the back weighs down the foot to ensure good stability.

You will certainly have noticed that this lamp is not electrified, the old wire with fabric insulation and wooden switch were very damaged and for safety reasons it was not reasonable to keep them. However, if you wish, I can offer to re-electrify this lamp with a more recent Bakelite switch from the 20s and 30s and a modern wire meeting safety standards.
