Lovely Terracotta Sculpture Representing a Young Girl Entitled "The Frisson". Numbered and Signed Sculpture by the Artist Sculptor ARISTIDE de RANIERI (1880 - 1929). ARISTIDE de RANIERI (1880 - 1929) Italian sculptor and ceramist, who mainly lived and worked in France. Aristide De Ranieri comes from a dynasty of Tuscan marble sculptors. His father, Angiolo De Ranieri from Querceta (1834-1911), sculptor trained in the workshops of Pietrasanta and Carrara and his brothers Ermemegildo (1862-1919) and Ferruccio (1867-1957), decorated the main monuments of the towns of Viareggio and Pietrasanta at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. Trained in the family workshop in Pietrasanta and at the School of Fine Arts in Carrara, he was sent to Paris by his father to open in 1893 a branch of the company Angiolo De Ranieri e figli at 10 rue de Perceval in the 14th arrondissement. From 1893, he began to create his own works in the Art Nouveau style. A member of the Society of French Artists, he regularly appears at the Salon.
