A large, beautiful painted enamel on copper in the neo-Renaissance style depicting a scene of musketeers sitting in front of a fireplace playing cards. The polychromy is vivid and shimmering with gold cameo highlights, the tones are frank and bright.Blackened wood and gilt bronze frame.
France, Paris, circa 1880, signed by the master enameller: "T. Soyer" in gold (in the lower left corner).
