Portrait of a young girl (or a young boy), painted full-length, her left arm resting on a black lacquered armchair. Signed lower left Henri VOLLET, dated 1888. Student of Fernand Cormon, painter whose fine arts studio has seen many artists including Van Gogh, Lautrec, Lin Fengmian. Honorable mention at the Salon of French Artists in 1888, bronze medal at the Universal Exhibition of 1900, 3rd class medal in 1891, 2nd class in 1897, knight of the Legion of Honor in 1904.
