Beautiful old painting, oil on canvas signed twice lower right Bégaud (Pierre-Albert), circa 1920, representing a faun musician in a landscape at the Antique temple, charming a naiad admiring its reflection at the edge of a river. Beautiful and sensitive composition freely inspired by a Bakst cartoon visible at the Center Pompidou. Youthful work of the Bordeaux painter, student of Cormon in his Parisian years before his return to Bordeaux. On its original canvas in good condition, later gilded wood frame.
