Rare stone sculpture circa 1930/50, direct cut signed Henri Duler, representing a young naked woman seated, legs folded. Beautiful work with simplified lines, the arch of the back responding to the inclination of the neck, with a beautiful opposing movement. After studying at the Beaux Arts in Paris from which he graduated, Henri Duler entered Aristide Maillol's class at the National School of Decorative Arts in Paris. He was appointed professor of fine arts in Toulouse in 1948, part of his workshop was sold to Toulouse in 1990. Total dimensions: height 26 cm, width 27 cm, depth 15 cm
