"Universal Polerouter Date Micro Rotor Automatic Watch 1960 Steel On Leather"
Iconic watch from the prestigious Geneva manufacture UNIVERSAL, POLEROUTER model, in steel, from the 1960s. This watch launched in 1954 was designed to resist the magnetic fields of the North Pole. Universal thus provided these automatic watches to the pilots of the Scandinavian Airline System (SAS) company to accompany them on their commercial flights, the first of which took place on November 15, 1954, making the trip Copenhagen – Los Angeles passing over the Pole north. It was therefore in the spring of 1954 that Universal presented its “Polerouter” with a micro-rotor movement, designed by the legendary Gerald Genta. The watch is signed, on its dial, on its caseback and on its movement, and numbered. In perfect condition and serviced, its proper functioning is guaranteed by us for one year (except in the event of shock or immersion). A rare and prestigious watch!
