Object description :

"Prometheus Chained, Sculpture From The End Of The 19th Century"
Original sculpture representing Prometheus chained on a rock with the eagle above him preparing to come and devour his liver.
Prometheus appears in the form of a young man chained on this block of marble, hands and feet tied. the marble is nicely veined.
the eagle is golden as are the fetters of prometheus. probably a bronze or metallic alloy but difficult to discern.
an eagle's wing very slightly curved at its tip.
a small lack of patina on the body of prometheus.
a superb mythological sculpture from the end of the 19th century.

height:
26 cm.
