Large and beautiful oil on canvas "Vallée de la Risle" by Count Alfred Swieykowsky. This Russo-Polish painter from Ukraine (1869-1953), was a student of Fernand Cormon and he exhibited at the Salon of French Artists from 1894 to 1924. Member of the fine arts from 1927, Silver medal at the Universal Exhibition of 1937. This post-impressionist and fauvist painter left many landscapes of Paris, Haute Savoie, Brittany and Normandy. Living since 1930 in La Ferrière sur Risle (Eure), he has painted extensively the softness and tranquility of the landscapes of La Risle, this painting is the perfect representation. Bright touches for the green color of the foliage but also a lot of softness and serenity. (the colors in the photos are duller than in reality) French School of the 20th century.
