Jacques Dautriche, Louis XVI Period Mahogany Commode Stamped 18th Century Lovely Louis XVI Period Speckled Mahogany Commode, Opening With Three Drawers On The Front And Resting On Four Sheath Feet. Beautiful Gilt Bronze Ornamentation Such as Pull Handles, Lock Entrances, Chutes...Cut-sided Uprights. It is Garnished with a Gray Veined White Marble Top. She has her Key. Refined and Elegant Commode, Stamped JME, Hallmark of Jurandes and the Famous Cabinetmaker Jacques Van Oostenryk known as DAUTRICHE (1725 / 1728 - 1778). Jacques Van Oostenryk known as DAUTRICHE Master on May 24, 1765. Originally from the Netherlands, he came to settle in Paris before 1743. First a simple worker, then a free craftsman, he was already known as a talented marquetry maker when he became receive master cabinetmaker on May 24, 1765. He then obtained orders for the royal houses and for the furnishing of the Count of Artois at the Palace of the Temple. After having resided on rue Traversière for a long time, Dautriche lived on rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine, not far from the foundling asylum. This master signed his works with the pseudonym J.
