Born on January 6, 1906 in Jezov (Austro-Hungarian Empire), Gabriel ZENDEL moved with his family to Paris at the end of the 1920s. He abandoned his studies in 1924 to devote himself to painting. He was a student of Paul Bornet.
In 1931, he showed his first personal exhibition at the Zak gallery.
From 1940 and until 1960 his art was resolutely in the post-cubist line.
One of the great representatives of the School of Paris, he continued to exhibit his works in the most important galleries in the world, including:
Paris Gallery 1935
Galerie Charpentier, rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré 1936
Gasser Gallery, Cannes 1942
Durand-Ruel Gallery, New York 1949
Paris “The Painters Witnesses of their Time” 1951 (and all subsequent exhibitions)
