Sabre De Cavalerie Des Uhlans De Saxe flag

Object description :

"Sabre De Cavalerie Des Uhlans De Saxe"
This saber is difficult to identify at first glance, exept that it is a Germanic type cavalry saber. This is due to the great rarity of the model.
The only precise illustration that I found is in the Stauffer auktionen catalog of March 21, 2015, where under the number 1172 a very comparable saber is offered, identified as "saber of Ulhan of Saxe" model 1811. The long tail cap, the guard branch, the flare, and the absence of "ears"  at the guard are completely comparable.
This date of 1811 model attributed by the expert from the Stauffer house seems late to me, I would rather have dated this saber to the last quarter of the 18th century, but to be prudente we can retain a dating from the time of the Empire. In any case, this saber is very rare...
BLADE: It is a long and strong blade, which after a very short ricasso has a wide groove along its entire length, and a narrower one along the back. Counter-edging on the last 24 cm of blade. No supplier's mark, since it is a "troop" model.
Length of the blade = 85 cm, Width at the ricasso 3.4 cm, thickness at the ricasso = 8.4 mm
GUARD: all iron, with a long quillon ending in the shape of a scroll, guard branch in the shape of the letter "B". No mumps, but large square plates on each side of the handle (see photos) internally, small orifice near the passage of the blade, the use of which I do not know
CAP : long tail. We note a small notch on one side of the cap, of no particular use. Perhaps it is a cap that was common to another model of saber, the guard of which was provided with a secondary branch?
 GRIP  covered with sheepskin.
SCABBARD: This scabbard is in my opinion later, although it is perfectly adapted to the saber. Sheath entry, intermediate piece and brass bolt. Iron dart at the level of the butt.
This saber is therefore a rare model on the market. As I think the scabbard is later, although very well made, the price I ask takes this into account. (NB = I know from a colleague specialized antique dealer a hussar scabbard completely in iron dating from the 1st Empire, barely longer in which this saber fits very well. The asking price is €500. Information on request)
Shipping costs = France €20, Western Europe €35
