"Views Of Rome, 19th Century."
This pair of gouaches representing views of Rome is dated 1842. One is a view of Saint John Lateran and the other of the Capitol Square. They are the work of a certain Di Filippi and although we have not found any information about him, the quality of execution, worthy of the art of a miniaturist, is indisputable. This charming set has retained its original freshness. it is framed by a small modern black lacquered baguette. Mid-19th century. Each view measures 10.5cm x 13.5cm, and each frame 26.5cm x 20.5cm.
