Coffee Table With Ceramic Tile And Lacquered Metal Leg By Roger Capron In Vallauris

Coffee table in ceramic tiles with rims and black lacquered metal legs. Unsigned, this work is nevertheless characteristic of Roger Capron's workshops in Vallauris in the 1960s. With its assembly of red/black tiles and stylized orange foliage surrounded by green on a white background, this coffee table inevitably attracts the eye and does not do not leave indifferent. Its enamels offer an interesting contrast of shine and matte. Two tiles are slightly damaged (see photos), which does not detract from the overall superb quality. The base is in impeccable condition, without any rust, with its original lacquer. Under the tiles, visible below, a period chipboard support reveals two traces of humidity, undoubtedly due to spilled glasses, which do not affect the performance of the tiles.
