"Lafon De Camarsac: Photography On Enamels"
Large photograph on enameled plate of Lafon de Camarsac (Pierre Michel Marie Alcide Lafon de Camarsac born and died in Bordeaux, France: 1821-1905). He is the inventor of photographic enamels in 1854 and one of the creators of the fixing of photographic images on metallic and ceramic materials. Gold medal at the Paris Universal Exhibition in 1867. It is installed at different addresses including 3 rue de la Paix in Paris (see photo). Portrait of a man in black and white on slightly domed oval plate. Original frame in blackened wood enhanced with gilded interlacing in relief. Small cracks on the frame (restored in our workshops) and "tired" velvet. Very good state. Signed on the back of the plaque Lafon de Camarsac 1879. Gold medal in Paris 1867.Dimensions of the enameled plaque: 14.5 x 11 cm.
