Exceptional and imposing canoe prow in the shape of a crocodile's head. Today, the canoe remains the most common means of transport in the Sepik River valley. Most of these canoes used in the lower and middle Sepik area have a sculpted prow representing the head of a crocodile, an animal respected. Hard wood and ravined by time with traces of use and remains of polychromy. Sold on a base.
