On the guard side of the blade is engraved in large cursive letters "Repe" for République and on the counter-guard side "Franse" for Française. The back of the blade is engraved KLINGENTHAL in strong capital letters. Wooden barrel scabbard covered with thick blackened leather with two large iron fittings, brass bail eyebolts, iron dart.
This saber has a beautiful patina. It is in good condition and has never been touched.
This weapon with iron fittings is characteristic of the revolutionary period, which experienced a serious shortage of copper, during which the brass fittings were replaced by iron fittings.
