"Bronze And Crystal Trim"
The creation of this impressive decoration composed of a crystal bowl and two vases mounted in gilded bronze is attributed to the Cristallerie de Clichy (1842 - 1895). The crystal is supported by a sumptuous gilded bronze frame , the quality of the chiseling as well as its delicacy underline the richness of this composition, offering a real insight into the production of the French luxury industry in the second half of the 19th century. .Created in 1844, the Clichy-la-Garenne crystal factory established itself from the start of the Second Empire as one of the most important French factories in the production of crystal. Unfortunately they did not sign their creations but only appeared with a label that has often disappeared today. His numerous participations in the Universal Exhibitions which punctuated the second half of the 19th century were always crowned with success. The innovative Clichy Crystal Factory benefited from several complementary and determining factors, including the technological and scientific development of the 19th century, before definitively shutting down its ovens in 1895.
