From 1780 he was “painter of the Queen’s Buildings” and made decorative paintings at the Belvedere of the Petit Trianon. He even adorns the furniture with his floral arrangements: thus a half-moon chest of drawers, stamped Cosson, part of the collections of the Countess du Barry, testifies to the elegance of this artist. The refined composition of his bouquets attests to an original style to the point that we are often tempted to attribute to him an anonymous painting trip.
