BEARS THE J.DUBOIS STAMP Legend: Jacques Dubois (around 1693-1763) was one of the best Parisian cabinetmakers during the reign of Louis XV. He worked for a long time as a free worker in the Faubourg Saint Antoine before obtaining his master's degree at the age of 49. Jacques Dubois enjoyed great notoriety during his lifetime with both French and foreign clients. His production was limited to the Louis XV style and among the characteristics of his work we note the use of quality rocaille bronzes, presenting a “syncopated” rhythm made of curves and counter-curves.
