JOUENNE Michel, painter, illustrator and lithographer born January 25, 1933 in Boulogne Billancourt (92) and died in Clamart on May 16, 2021 (Ec. Fr.). He created his first works in 1947 and in 1949 he exhibited for the first time at the Salon de Versailles where he was rewarded. In 1969, he participated in the Salon of Painters Witnesses of their Time, followed by the first prizes and various recognitions which confirmed the recognition of his talent during various exhibitions held in France and in around twenty countries. For his works relating to the sea, Michel Jouenne was appointed painter of the Navy in 1991 but he is also inspired by Mediterranean landscapes and views of Paris. His painter friends are Émilio Grau-Sala, André Hamburg, Daniel du Janerand, Paul Collomb and many other renowned artists. This superb work, an oil on canvas typical of his Art from the 1970s/1980s, but which is not as usual inspired by Provence, depicts a countryside landscape. It is titled “The river in Ile de France”. Canvas in good condition in a pretty frame.
