"Louis XIV Sky Blue Lacquered Commode"
Louis XIV style chest of drawers stamped GIRARDAU. Mid-18th century period. It opens with five drawers in three rows. The facade is slightly curved. The sides are paneled “in chapel”. The drawer fronts and the front uprights are decorated with molded reserves. The top is molded with a corbin beak. The lower crosspiece is scalloped. The four locks are later but functional and equipped with an old key. The foundations are in beech. Beautiful bronze drop handle trim and keyholes. Sky blue re-lacquered chest of drawers with off-white re-champi. Stamp on a rear upright I.GIRARDAU for Jean GIRARDAU (master in 1738) and hallmark JME (Juré-Maîtres-Cébénistes).
