Chiseled bronze, gold-cast, brown patina, celestial blue patinated brass sheet.
This pair of lights consists of a buffet base with four legs.
On the facade, a rosette surrounded by a garland of flowers bears a medallion of a Sevres biscuit flower vase in the Wegwood jasper model.
The spare panels are celestial blue, surrounded by a pearl frame.
Each end of this base is curved with the same principle of framed reserve. The luminaire itself is a winged woman sheathed in acanthus leaves. She is holding a thyrsus emerging from vine vines. The three very thin arms of light are decorated with a scroll and acanthus leaves as well. There are in fact three fires including one forward, these candelabra are for support use (fireplace, chest of drawers, etc.) The binets have a guilloché background and surrounded by garlands of pearls, carried by large flat counter cups and surrounded by streaks. The quality of these candelabra is very striking of what was delicate and feminine in the Ancien Régime, one could almost speak of fragility.
They could very well have belonged to the Martyr Queen.
The bold design which could also have been born under the pencil of a merchant - haberdasher is served by a carving delved into the smallest details.
This drawing already anticipates the lighting fixtures or fires from the very beginning of the 19th century, we will think of the facing sphinxes for example.
An almost identical model was sold at Christie's in 2016.
