"Glasses Lorgnon Binocle Pomponne Enamel Napoleon III Lorgnette 19th Century"
Pair of lorgnon glasses called "face to hand" or pomponne* binoculars enhanced with enamel, decorated with plant arabesques, from the Napoleon III 19th century period. This eyeglass is in good condition. The opening system works without problem (by pulling the small ring at the bottom above the ring). Note: a few scratches on the glasses, a few small scratches on the pompom, tiny little accidents on the enamel (very barely visible), slight dirt and wear over time, see photos. * Pomponne: Alloy developed by two goldsmiths, Turgot and Daumy, installed at the end of the 18th century in the Hôtel de Pomponne, rue de la verrerie in Paris. It is a copper-based metal intended to imitate gold or silver. Louis XVI had granted them a manufacturing privilege in 1785, although until that date, any imitation was prohibited.
