The very beautiful channel frame is 19th century in very good condition 35 cm x 23 cm. Louis Pierre Richard was born in 1810 in Paris and died in Cabourg in 1886. He is listed in Bénézit and in a dictionary of 19th century landscape painters. He was a student of Léon Cogniet. He settled in Cabourg. He began in Paris, at the salon of 1861, where he then exhibited in 1865, 1868, 1869, 1870, and in 1880. essentially a landscape painter, he treated the sites of Sologne and especially Normandy, where he painted the farm of Saint-Siméon, a place frequented by Corot, Cals, Jongkind, Boudin, that is to say from the romantic landscapers to the pre-impressionists. As a landscaper, we were able to compare his style to those of Harpignies and Louis Alexandre Dubourg, his younger brother and who was also a student of Cogniet. Some museums keep his works.
