Object description :

"Saloir Originating From Saintonge XIX"
Very rare ham salter in sandstone terracotta from the 19th century. Important piece in perfect condition probably coming from the workshops of Tâtre, a village of potters in the south of Charente until the end of the 19th century. (Laundry pans and other round sandstone salt pans were also made there). You can see drips in the photos but no cracks or defects. A handle at each end allowed it to be carried. Transport quote on quote indicating the city.
