The +: Signed J. L Sanguet, inventor of the self-reducing tachometer. Uses: Instrument for measuring angles: architect, surveyor, etc. Self-reducing tachometer in brass and bronze, by Joseph Louis Sanguet (1848-1921). Late 19th early 20th century. Vertically and horizontally adjustable bezel with rack and pinion focusing. Horizontal plates of angle values with silver limb and graduated. Graduated slope scale. Secondary sight adjustment scope. Spirit level holder (spirit level missing). Lenses, Tripod base with adjustment screws. Very good condition with some traces of wear and oxidation. Signed on the plate: JL Sanguet, inventor, constructor, 31, rue Monge, Paris.
